Summary:
Responsible for conducting comprehensive Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) prevention activities to ensure HIV and STD prevention services are provided to persons at greater risk of acquiring and/or transmitting HIV and STI's. Adhere to policies/procedures under the Fort Bend County Health and Human Services Department and Clinical Health Division. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. This is a Grant Funded position.
Responsibilities
Provide HIV and STI testing, outreach, education, and condom distribution for the HIV/STI Prevention Program.
Assist in facilitation of client flow and coordination of all prevention client services.
Refer, schedule, and maintain appointments for collaborative HIV and STI testing, linkage to care, and treatment. Accurately complete required assessment forms, lab requisitions and additional written materials.
Assist in data entry and preparation of monthly reports; Follow universal safety precautions.
Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensures accuracy and integrity of data. Data may include patient data and programmatic data.
Provide and maintain an atmosphere which incorporates the standards and protocols for HIV/STI Prevention Program at the Clinical Health Services Division.
Engage in one-on-one conversations with individuals regarding sexual and substance use activities and provide education and facilitate risk reduction plans to reduce HIV and STI acquisition and transmission.
Link persons living with HIV (PLWH) to local medical facilities and other community resources. Ensure that PLWH maintain enrollment in medication services.
Provides one-on-one linkage to prevention and essential support services to persons testing HIV negative.
Develop relationships with the community in order to gain access to the established priority populations; Represent the program at community meetings.
Attend specialized training specific to HIV prevention program design and implementation, and behavior change theory application; Participate in on-going training as needed and required.
Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED. Medical Assistant preferred.
Knowledge of HIV and medical terminology.
2 years of experience with HIV education and outreach activities preferred.
Good computer skills and knowledge of computer applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office; typing and data entry skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication;
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact and deal effectively with the public and all levels of employees.
Organizational skills; ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadline and to prioritize own work.
Ability to interpret policies and to implement procedures.
Adaptability to new testing methods, technologies, and procedures.
Valid Driver's License and current auto insurance.
Bilingual preferred.
Certified in Phlebotomy preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $17.60 - $22.00 hourly based on qualifications

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
