Job Description:
Primary Purpose:
To assist and monitor students in the cafeteria during lunch and to provide clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the school office.
Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities and Duties Clerk Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff.
Greet and direct campus visitors in a hospitable manner.
Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes in accordance with school and district procedures.
Assist parents in checking students in and out of school and maintain accurate attendance records.
Assist with student registrations and withdrawals.
Receive, sort and distribute mail, messages, documents and other deliveries.
Duplicate printed materials as needed.
Maintain filing system.
Type correspondence and reports.
Complete purchase orders and order supplies as needed.
Maintain teacher and staff absence from duty reports and send to the Payroll department.
Maintain substitute sign-in sheet and send to the Payroll department.
Monitor Monitor and supervise students in the cafeteria.
Help students advance through the serving line and past the cashier.
Maintain a lunchroom atmosphere of cheerfulness, cleanliness, orderliness and personal caring.
Manage student behavior in the cafeteria and make discipline referrals through teachers to the principal.
Clear and wipe cafeteria tables and ensure that all trays and silver are returned to the scullery.
Help students exit the cafeteria and return to their classrooms in a safe and orderly manner.
Attendance at work is an essential function.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.

Minimum Education/Certification:

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficiency in typing, word processing, performing basic clerical skills and operating office machines Effective organization, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to operate multi-line phone system Constructive and cooperative attitude toward the school, staff and students Bilingual preferred OTHER INFORMATION:
Equipment Used:
Computer, printer, copier, multi-line phone, calculator, fax machine and other office equipment.

Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over), reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, repeated bending, specific visual requirements (using computer), specific hearing requirements (phone conversations).
