2 hours ago Full Job Description As an Electrical Design Associate, you will assist R&D in the development of lighting products and systems.
You will contribute to all phases of the product life cycle from initial concept and prototyping to customer related issues and production support.
Key
Responsibilities:
Develop analog and digital circuits for lighting and control systems at the integrated circuit and printed circuit board levels.
Utilize circuit and PCB design software to create designs and layouts.
Manage Microcontroller/PIC programming projects for in house development.
Validate designs at system level including hardware and software integration.
Provide engineering support for designs and systems in mass production.
Integrate all aspects of design (aesthetics, function, user interface, manufacturability, lifecycle).
Design component and assembly concepts.
Identify cost reduction and product improvement opportunities.
Create 3D models of new mechanical components and assemblies.
Source prototype components using our 3D printers, internal and external machine shops, and nearby vendors.
Complete mechanical engineering analyses of components and assemblies.
Assemble functional and aesthetically accurate prototypes.
Conduct effective design reviews to share your work and gather feedback for alternatives and improvements.
Work closely with our purchasing team and vendors to source and qualify production tooling.
Collaborate with team members to introduce new products and components.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and customer issues.
Apply your experiences in order to improve the product development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
Duties may change and associates may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and
Qualifications:

years of progressive job experience is required (Bachelor's / Master's in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering is a PLUS).
Knowledge of circuit and PCB Design software packages (ex.
Altium Designer, DipTrace, etc.
) is required.
Familiarity with Microcontroller/PIC programming and programming protocols (C#, C++, Arduino) Desire to work with a cross-functional team to build and understand a complex system involving both hardware and software.
Willingness to take initiative and solve problems in a fast-paced work environment.
Desire to work on a variety of tasks to solve difficult technical problems.
Experience with 3D modeling hardware and software (SolidWorks, CAD is a PLUS).
Experience design power electronics or sensitive analog circuits.
Experience with PCB layout is required.
Experience with IC-level design is required.
Experience is lighting hardware and design is a PLUS.
Experience with DMX512 protocol is a PLUS.
Understand of SMT technologies.
Experience with SMT equipment and operations is a PLUS.
Ability to quickly and thoroughly debug circuits and solve complex system problems.
Ability to work independently and be self-directed to deliver upon objectives.
Excellent organization, communication, follow-through and execution.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
